Content Manager Job Description

Tasks:

  • Content Strategy Development:
    • Develop and implement a content strategy aligned with the company’s brand, voice, and marketing goals.
    • Conduct audience research to understand customer personas and tailor content accordingly.
    • Plan and maintain a content calendar to ensure timely and consistent content delivery.
  • Content Creation & Management:
    • Oversee the creation of high-quality content, including blog posts, articles, social media posts, website content, email newsletters, and video scripts.
    • Collaborate with designers, writers, and videographers to produce engaging multimedia content.
    • Edit and proofread content to ensure consistency, accuracy, and alignment with brand guidelines.
    • Repurpose existing content across different channels to maximise reach and impact.
  • SEO & Optimisation:
    • Ensure content is optimised for search engines (SEO) by conducting keyword research and implementing best practices.
    • Work closely with the SEO team to enhance website content and improve organic rankings.
    • Monitor content performance and adjust strategies to improve visibility and engagement.
  • Social Media & Digital Presence:
    • Develop content strategies for social media platforms to increase engagement and brand awareness.
    • Monitor trends and emerging platforms to identify opportunities for content expansion.
    • Coordinate with the social media team to align content strategies across channels.
  • Content Performance & Analytics:
    • Track and analyse content performance using tools such as Google Analytics, SEMrush, and social media insights.
    • Provide regular reports on content effectiveness and recommend improvements based on data insights.
    • Use metrics such as engagement rates, click-through rates, and conversions to refine content strategies.
  • Collaboration & Communication:
    • Work closely with marketing, sales, and product teams to ensure content aligns with overall business objectives.
    • Manage relationships with freelance writers, agencies, and external content providers.
    • Develop and enforce content guidelines to ensure brand consistency across all channels.
  • Team Leadership & Project Management:
    • Lead and mentor content team members, ensuring productivity and creativity.
    • Manage content production workflows, deadlines, and deliverables.
    • Implement content management best practices to improve efficiency and collaboration.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Content Manager, Content Strategist, or similar role.
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
  • Strong understanding of SEO, content marketing, and digital marketing trends.
  • Proficiency in content management systems (CMS) such as WordPress, HubSpot, or similar.
  • Knowledge of social media platforms and best content practices.
  • Experience with analytics tools like Google Analytics, SEMrush, or Ahrefs.
  • Excellent project management and organisational skills.
  • Ability to create content strategies for multiple channels and audiences.
  • Strong leadership and team collaboration abilities.
