Email Marketing Specialist Job Description

Tasks:

  • Email Marketing Strategy Development:
    • Develop and execute email marketing strategies aligned with business goals and audience needs.
    • Create customer segmentation strategies to target the right audience with personalised content.
    • Implement A/B testing to optimise subject lines, content, and CTAs for improved performance.
  • Campaign Planning & Execution:
    • Design and manage email campaigns, including promotional, transactional, and lifecycle emails.
    • Collaborate with content and design teams to create visually appealing and engaging emails.
    • Schedule and automate email sequences using platforms such as Mailchimp, HubSpot, Klaviyo, or similar.
    • Ensure email deliverability, list hygiene, and compliance with GDPR and CAN-SPAM regulations.
  • Content Creation & Optimisation:
    • Write compelling email copy that resonates with target audiences and drives action.
    • Optimise email templates for readability, accessibility, and mobile responsiveness.
    • Maintain a consistent brand voice across all email communications.
  • Performance Analysis & Reporting:
    • Track and analyse key email marketing metrics such as open rates, click-through rates (CTR), conversion rates, and unsubscribe rates.
    • Generate reports and provide insights to optimise future email campaigns.
    • Identify trends and make data-driven recommendations for improvement.
  • List Management & Growth:
    • Manage and grow the email subscriber list through organic and paid acquisition efforts.
    • Implement strategies to reduce email churn and improve list segmentation.
    • Monitor list engagement and take action to re-engage inactive subscribers.
  • Marketing Automation:
    • Set up automated email workflows to nurture leads and increase retention.
    • Optimise drip campaigns to guide customers through the sales funnel effectively.
    • Integrate email marketing efforts with CRM systems and other marketing tools.
  • Compliance & Best Practices:
    • Ensure compliance with all email marketing regulations and industry best practices.
    • Stay updated with the latest email marketing trends and tools.
    • Implement strategies to improve sender reputation and avoid spam filters.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as an Email Marketing Specialist or in a similar digital marketing role.
  • Proficiency in email marketing platforms (Mailchimp, HubSpot, Klaviyo, ActiveCampaign, etc.).
  • Strong understanding of email marketing metrics and analytics.
  • Excellent copywriting and proofreading skills.
  • Basic HTML/CSS knowledge for email formatting and troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with segmentation and personalisation strategies.
  • Strong project management and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
