Mobile App Developer Job Description

Tasks:

  • Mobile App Development:
    • Develop and maintain mobile applications using Swift (iOS), Kotlin (Android), or cross-platform frameworks (Flutter, React Native, Xamarin).
    • Ensure seamless performance, responsiveness, and high-quality user experience.
    • Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code following best practices.
  • UI/UX Implementation:
    • Collaborate with designers to implement mobile-friendly UI components.
    • Ensure mobile applications follow accessibility and usability best practices.
    • Optimise app navigation and user interactions for better engagement.
  • API & Backend Integration:
    • Work closely with backend developers to integrate APIs and third-party services.
    • Implement real-time data synchronisation using Firebase, GraphQL, or RESTful APIs.
    • Ensure app security by implementing authentication (OAuth, JWT) and encryption techniques.
  • Testing & Debugging:
    • Perform unit and integration testing to ensure app stability and performance.
    • Debug and resolve application issues across different devices and OS versions.
    • Use tools like XCTest (iOS), Espresso (Android), and automated testing frameworks for QA.
  • App Deployment & Maintenance:
    • Prepare and submit applications to the App Store (iOS) and Google Play Store (Android).
    • Manage app versions, updates, and bug fixes.
    • Monitor app performance using analytics tools such as Google Firebase, Flurry, or Mixpanel.
  • Performance Optimisation:
    • Optimise mobile applications for speed, memory usage, and battery efficiency.
    • Implement caching and offline storage mechanisms to enhance user experience.
    • Continuously improve app performance based on analytics and user feedback.
  • Collaboration & Agile Development:
    • Work closely with cross-functional teams including designers, product managers, and backend engineers.
    • Participate in Agile/Scrum meetings, sprints, and code reviews.
    • Document app architecture and development workflows for future scalability.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Mobile App Developer with a strong portfolio of published applications.
  • Expertise in iOS (Swift) and/or Android (Kotlin/Java) development.
  • Experience with cross-platform frameworks (Flutter, React Native, Xamarin) is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of RESTful APIs, GraphQL, and third-party API integration.
  • Familiarity with mobile architecture patterns (MVVM, MVP, Clean Architecture).
  • Experience with cloud services (Firebase, AWS, Azure) and push notifications.
  • Proficiency in version control systems (Git, GitHub, Bitbucket).
  • Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills.
  • Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and automated app deployment.
