Sales Development Representative Job Description

Tasks:

  • Lead Generation & Qualification:
    • Identify and research potential clients through various channels such as LinkedIn, industry directories, and online resources.
    • Conduct outbound cold calls, emails, and social media outreach to engage prospects.
    • Qualify leads based on business needs, budget, and decision-making processes.
    • Set up meetings and demos for the sales team with qualified leads.
  • Pipeline Management:
    • Maintain and manage a pipeline of potential clients in the CRM system (HubSpot, Salesforce, etc.).
    • Track interactions, follow-ups, and touchpoints to ensure consistent engagement.
    • Work closely with the sales team to ensure smooth handovers of qualified leads.
  • Market & Product Knowledge:
    • Develop a deep understanding of the company’s products/services and value propositions.
    • Stay informed about industry trends, competitor offerings, and market dynamics.
    • Educate prospects on how our solutions can meet their business challenges.
  • Collaboration & Communication:
    • Collaborate with marketing teams to leverage campaign insights and refine outreach strategies.
    • Work with sales representatives to tailor messaging based on customer pain points.
    • Provide feedback from prospects to inform sales and marketing strategies.
  • Performance Tracking & Reporting:
    • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as call volume, response rates, and conversion rates.
    • Prepare and present regular reports on outreach activities and pipeline progress.
    • Adjust outreach tactics based on data insights and feedback.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in a sales, lead generation, or business development role.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with potential clients.
  • Proficiency in CRM systems (Salesforce, HubSpot, Zoho, etc.).
  • Self-motivated with a proactive approach to prospecting and closing deals.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Ability to handle objections and rejections confidently.
  • Familiarity with social selling techniques (LinkedIn, email marketing, etc.).
