Shopify Administrator Job Description

Tasks:

  • Shopify Store Management:
    • Manage and update product listings, descriptions, pricing, and images on the Shopify platform.
    • Ensure proper categorisation and tagging of products for enhanced user experience and SEO.
    • Monitor store performance, troubleshoot technical issues, and liaise with Shopify support as needed.
    • Ensure all pages and functionalities are running smoothly, including checkout, payment gateways, and site speed optimisation.
  • Order Processing & Customer Support:
    • Oversee daily order management, tracking, and fulfilment processes to ensure timely delivery.
    • Handle customer inquiries related to order status, returns, and refunds via email or chat.
    • Work with logistics providers to resolve shipping or delivery issues.
    • Implement automation workflows for order tracking and notifications.
  • Inventory & Product Data Management:
    • Maintain accurate stock levels and update inventory records regularly.
    • Work closely with suppliers to ensure product availability and prevent stockouts.
    • Conduct regular audits to identify discrepancies and update product availability.
    • Assist in managing bulk product uploads and data migration as needed.
  • Marketing & Promotions:
    • Collaborate with the marketing team to set up promotions, discounts, and special offers.
    • Implement and manage upsell and cross-sell strategies within Shopify.
    • Ensure integration with marketing tools such as email automation (Klaviyo, Mailchimp), and analytics (Google Analytics, Shopify Reports).
    • Monitor and optimise conversion rates and suggest improvements.
  • SEO & Store Optimisation:
    • Optimise product pages and collections for SEO, including keyword research and metadata optimisation.
    • Improve site navigation and internal linking structure for better user experience.
    • Analyse website traffic and conversion data to identify opportunities for improvement.
    • Test and implement new Shopify apps and features to enhance functionality.
  • Reporting & Analytics:
    • Generate sales reports, customer insights, and performance metrics using Shopify analytics and Google Analytics.
    • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as bounce rates, average order value (AOV), and customer acquisition costs (CAC).
    • Provide actionable insights to improve store efficiency and profitability.
  • Compliance & Security:
    • Ensure compliance with GDPR, PCI, and other relevant eCommerce regulations.
    • Regularly update security settings, including user access control and data backups.
    • Monitor for fraudulent activity and take preventive measures.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Shopify Administrator, eCommerce Manager, or similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of Shopify features, themes, and app integrations.
  • Proficiency in managing product listings, collections, and store settings.
  • Experience with order management systems and fulfilment workflows.
  • Basic understanding of HTML/CSS and Liquid for minor store customisations.
  • Familiarity with SEO best practices and eCommerce marketing strategies.
  • Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools (Google Analytics, Shopify Reports).
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask.
