Shopify Developer Job Description

Tasks:

  • Shopify Store Development & Customisation:
    • Develop, customise, and optimise Shopify themes using Liquid, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
    • Implement custom features and functionalities based on business requirements.
    • Ensure responsive and high-performance Shopify store designs for all devices.
    • Customise Shopify sections, templates, and collections to align with branding.
  • App Development & Integration:
    • Integrate and configure third-party Shopify apps to enhance store functionality.
    • Develop custom Shopify apps using the Shopify API and webhooks.
    • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to app integrations and performance.
  • Store Performance Optimisation:
    • Optimise site speed, performance, and SEO for better user experience and search rankings.
    • Implement caching strategies and reduce load times by optimising assets.
    • Conduct regular performance audits and recommend improvements.
  • Payment & Checkout Customisation:
    • Configure Shopify’s payment gateways, shipping rules, and tax calculations.
    • Customise checkout processes to align with business workflows and requirements.
    • Ensure compliance with payment security standards and GDPR regulations.
  • API Development & Data Management:
    • Work with Shopify’s REST and GraphQL APIs to connect external services.
    • Develop automated workflows to sync product data, inventory, and order management.
    • Integrate with CRM, ERP, and fulfilment systems for seamless operations.
  • Troubleshooting & Support:
    • Identify and resolve bugs, conflicts, and performance bottlenecks.
    • Provide ongoing support and maintenance for Shopify stores.
    • Work closely with customer support teams to address technical issues.
  • Collaboration & Documentation:
    • Work closely with marketing, sales, and product teams to implement store enhancements.
    • Document development processes, customisations, and best practices for future reference.
    • Provide training to internal stakeholders on using Shopify effectively.
  • Security & Compliance:
    • Ensure that the Shopify store is secure and adheres to industry best practices.
    • Implement data protection measures and comply with eCommerce regulations.
    • Stay up-to-date with Shopify’s security features and updates.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Shopify Developer with a strong portfolio of Shopify projects.
  • Proficiency in Shopify’s Liquid templating language.
  • Strong front-end development skills in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and frameworks like React.js or Vue.js.
  • Experience with Shopify APIs, webhooks, and headless commerce solutions.
  • Familiarity with SEO best practices for Shopify stores.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Experience working with Shopify Plus (preferred).
  • Knowledge of version control systems such as Git.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
