UI/UX Developer Job Description

Tasks:

  • UI/UX Design & Development:
    • Design and develop responsive web and mobile user interfaces that enhance user experience.
    • Implement visually appealing and functional designs using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript frameworks (React, Vue, Angular).
    • Ensure consistency in design elements such as typography, colour schemes, and layout structures.
    • Develop prototypes, wireframes, and mockups using tools like Figma, Sketch, or Adobe XD.
  • User Experience Optimisation:
    • Conduct user research and usability testing to gather insights and improve designs.
    • Implement user feedback and data-driven changes to enhance application usability.
    • Optimise UI components for accessibility (WCAG) and cross-browser compatibility.
    • Collaborate with product managers and stakeholders to define UI/UX goals and strategies.
  • Front-End Development:
    • Translate UI/UX design wireframes into high-quality, scalable code.
    • Work with front-end frameworks such as React.js, Vue.js, or Angular to build interactive applications.
    • Ensure performance optimisation for fast load times and smooth user interactions.
    • Integrate front-end components with RESTful APIs and backend systems.
  • Collaboration & Communication:
    • Work closely with developers, designers, and stakeholders to implement design concepts effectively.
    • Maintain clear documentation of design guidelines, style guides, and component libraries.
    • Present design ideas and concepts to key stakeholders and incorporate feedback.
  • Testing & Quality Assurance:
    • Perform cross-browser and cross-platform testing to ensure a consistent user experience.
    • Identify and fix UI bugs and performance issues.
    • Continuously review and improve user interface components based on industry best practices.
  • Trends & Innovation:
    • Stay updated with the latest UI/UX trends, technologies, and frameworks.
    • Implement innovative solutions to improve user engagement and satisfaction.
    • Explore emerging design patterns and tools to enhance efficiency and aesthetics.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a UI/UX Developer, Front-End Developer, or similar role.
  • Proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and front-end frameworks (React, Vue, Angular).
  • Strong understanding of UI/UX design principles and best practices.
  • Experience with design tools such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, or InVision.
  • Knowledge of CSS pre-processors like SASS or LESS.
  • Familiarity with responsive and adaptive design techniques.
  • Experience in working with RESTful APIs and version control systems (Git).
  • Understanding of accessibility standards and usability testing methods.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and work in an Agile/Scrum environment.
